Thank you for your support and vote in the election.
There is still much more to do. We need your support in the second round of the UTLA election to get the Substitute friendly candidates elected.
Your ballots must arrive by mail at UTLA by April 3. Put your ballot in the mail ASAP and Tell all your fellow Substitutes to VOTE today!
Make sure your vote counts.
In my experience the following candidates are more supportive of Substitutes. I highly recommending voting for the following candidates.
NEA Affiliate Vice President Jimmie Woods-Gray NEA SOUTH NEA Director Juan J. Ramirez HARBOR AFT Area Chair Aaron Bruhnke
Jimmie Woods-Gray has been supportive of Substitutes in all the years I have know her. She also supports the Amendment to the UTLA Constitution I am
working on that will help Substitute Teachers. The amendment is to have the UTLA Secretary be responsible to run a yearly census of the members. Her opponent is one of
the most vocal people against my motion. The main reason that around 10,000 members, including almost all Substitutes can not vote for 32 of the 47 Board of Directors
is because UTLA doesn't know where its members are. That is why they require us to send in the coupon in order to vote for Area Directors. The person responsible for
the poor state of UTLA's rosters is the person running against Jimmy and she is against the amendment that will eliminate the excuse UTLA has for disenfranchising
thousands of members from voting.
Vote for the people who support Substitutes and the other step children of the Union. Vote for
NEA Affiliate Vice President Jimmie Woods-Gray NEA SOUTH NEA Director Juan J. Ramirez HARBOR AFT Area Chair Aaron Bruhnke
